Former Minneapolis Police officer Tou Thao, who was sentenced to more than three years in prison for being on scene during the incident with George Floyd, was featured in the latest Alpha News documentary Minnesota Mao — just days after being released from prison.
Along with Thao, attorney Greg Joseph, who represents Derek Chauvin in his latest appeal, was also featured in the documentary and spoke out about how so-called racism was “preposterous” in this case.
Thao also took part in an interview with Liz Collin on her podcast. Thao explained that Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and Judge Peter Cahill “wouldn’t know the truth if it him them in the face.”
DEREK CHAUVIN’s petition
In November 2025, Derek Chauvin’s attorney Greg Joseph filed a new petition, saying that prosecution ‘can only run from the truth for so long’
In the bombshell petition, 50 former and current officers provided sworn declarations stating that the technique used by Derek Chauvin was part of MPD training.
A Give Send Go account has been set up for donations to help pay Derek’s legal fees and other expenses related to his appeal.

Katie Blackwell—the Assistant Police Chief of Operations of the Minneapolis Department—filed a defamation lawsuit against producer Liz Collin, writer/director Dr. JC Chaix, Alpha News, and others.
Judge Edward T. Wahl analyzed Blackwell’s allegations of defamation inThe Fall of Minneapolis documentary and the book They’re Lying along related facts.
Judge Wahl determined:
“Under these facts, it is possible to interpret Blackwell’s testimony as incomplete or misleading by omission” (Judge’s Order, page 34).
Blackwell herself has affirmed that all of the findings in Judge Wahl’s order are true and accurate.
